The Introduction of Our School

Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering in Hurbanovo over a quarter of century opens its door to leavers from prinary schools in Slovak and Hungarian in the chrming town in south of Slovakia, located between Komárno and Nové Zámky.
Thanks the school climate with 270 to 300 students of full-time study it is introduced as small family-school implementing the project to promote health. The school provides modern gym, comfortably equipped school hostel and canteen. The lessons are held at conventional and specialized classrooms, modern drawing rooms and at the gym providing fitness room. There is a projector and the access to high speed Internet at each classroom. There are five specialized classrooms, which are connected to the internal school network, are equipped with modern communication Technologies devices.

The priorities of education include vocational education and education of secondary technical staff for building construction, tuition of graphic information systems and foreign languages.
The education of students is ensured by the qualified, skilled and experienced teaching staff, educators at school boarding house and by the team of other school staff who are led by the successful, qualified and experienced managament of the school.

The teaching staff consists of innovative teachers who develop their qualification and are involved in the transformation from a traditional school into modern one.
The schooling is realized not only on lessons in the classrooms but also out of them because our school cooperates with the universities, construction firms, private educational institutions, cultural institutions, local and international partner-schools. In addition, it organizes the Teachers´and Students´conferenes, local and international educational projects, student-exchange program and vocational competitions.

The offer of extracurricular activities within clubbing is rich and heterogenious – from sports and vocational clubs to student magazine and various cultural events and contests.

The commuters should be accommodated at new school boarding house which provides full-board in the school canteen.

Besides the School´s Board, parents through the Parents´ Board and students through the Students´ Board participate in the process of important decisions of our school.
Our school has partnership with Secondary Technical Schools of Civil Engineering in Lučenec, Nitra, Trnava and Trenčín in our country and with Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering of Jozsef Hild in Győr and Secondary Technical School of Civil Engineering of Zbl Miklós in Budapest. The school boarding house cooperated with boarding houses in Szőny and Szentes, Hungary. Every year the couple of students take part in the international project in Bergen-Belsene, Germany.

School was among the first which started the project Infovek and has become the first regional education centre in Slovakia providing the continuous access to the Internet. During 2001-2008 it was trained over hundreds primary school and secondary school teachers at our School Education Centre for Informatics. Participating in projects Open school, and Digital the Štúrs our school became the island of education of communication and information technologies for public – from young learners, Roma children, the children at The SOS Centre to pensioners. It has worked the Club of Innovative Teachers since 2009 which is supported by Microsoft – Partners in Learning. It opens for all the teachers at our region and regularly organizes the conference Learning for Life.
